Reflections on the Pitt EM Program
What were you looking for in a residency program?
A place with high volume, high acuity, and a range of experiences.
What are the strengths of the Pitt EM program?
The residents and faculty!
What has surprised you most about Pitt?
People from PA are very invested in their popcorn preferences. I didn't realize how popular popcorn was, as a snack outside from movie theaters, until I moved to Pittsburgh.
About Pitt EM and Pittsburgh
What do you like best about living in Pittsburgh/Western PA?
I like that Pittsburgh has many of the things big cities afford; plethora of restaurants, stores, parks, exercise classes, etc. and that it also has a smaller town feel with many "mom and pop" shops and places to eat outside of chains.
Where did you choose to live, and why?
I am living in Shadyside. It is close to restaurants, work, barre classes, and is a cute neighborhood to walk my dog in.
What advice would you give to incoming residents about moving to the 'Burgh?
Bring dental floss! There is always a fancy popcorn store awaiting you!
