The University of Pittsburgh Fellowship in Medical Toxicology is a two-year, ACGME-accredited program that provides exceptional training in one of the busiest medical toxicology services in the country. The program provides a unique clinical experience in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Our fellowship is the only service nationwide with the capability to admit to a specialized hospital unit dedicated to the treatment of medical toxicology patients at UPMC Presbyterian. We also admit patients to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and UPMC Mercy. Fellows are also engaged in an outpatient clinic, providing care to patients with chronic toxicities and occupational exposures. Lastly, the Pittsburgh Poison Center completes the clinical experience which provides service in Western Pennsylvania with over 100,000 calls each year. This allows fellows to graduate with extensive knowledge in the operation and management of Poison Control Centers and local health departments. Coupled with our 100% board pass rate, our fellows are bound to succeed.
