Spent lots of time with my family and friends including trips to Miami and Cape Cod.
What do you like to do outside of medicine?
Weight training, running, and swimming for exercise
Reflections on the Pitt EM Program
What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a program that would challenge me to reach my full potential as an EM physician. After rotating here as a medical student and interacting with some of the attendings, many of whom are leaders in their field, as well as the residents and other ED staff members, I knew Pitt EM was the place for me.
What are the strengths of the Pitt EM program?
Well-established program with tons of connections and opportunities through a large alumni network and fellowship opportunities, respectively. Through a variety of clinical sites and experiences, Pitt EM truly offers comprehensive training.
What has surprised you most about Pitt?
I was genuinely surprised by the approachability of the faculty.
About Pitt EM and Pittsburgh
What do you like best about living in Pittsburgh/Western PA?
Pittsburgh has the amenities of a big city such as professional sports teams, concerts/events, restaurants, etc. while still managing to be affordable and provide access to the outdoors. It's also easy to get around, whether that be by car, bike, or bus.
Where did you choose to live, and why?
Summerset at Frick Park. It's just outside of the hustle and bustle of the city without ever leaving Pittsburgh. There is plenty of outdoor space while also offering the convenience of proximity to Homestead for all of your shopping needs. The commute to all of the main hospitals is easy as well.
What advice would you give to incoming residents about moving to the 'Burgh?
Visit the city! The neighborhoods of Pittsburgh are all quite different and it's hard to get a sense of that without actually seeing them.
