About Me

Hometown:  Landgrove, VT
College/University: Boston College
Medical School: Stony Brook University

What are your career goals?
Currently I am interested in toxicology vs wilderness medicine, but my interests change frequently.

What did you do the summer before internship?
Spent some time home in Vermont and a week at the Jersey Shore with my family.

What do you like to do outside of medicine?
I enjoy anything outside: skiing, hiking, biking, swimming. I also love movies and reading fantasy or spy novels.

Reflections on the Pitt EM Program

What were you looking for in a residency program?
Diverse clinical settings and experience managing critically-ill patients with good volume but in an area with access to outside activities.

What are the strengths of the Pitt EM program?
Everything I stated above (diverse clinical settings, awesome critical care curriculum) with an awesome-reputation and super welcoming and supportive leadership.

What has surprised you most about Pitt?
How many people move and stay here. So many attendings tell the same story of moving here for med school or residency and loving it so much that they end up staying here long after.

About Pitt EM and Pittsburgh

What do you like best about living in Pittsburgh/Western PA?
Everything is super close/super accessible in the city with little traffic.

Where did you choose to live, and why?
I chose Sunnyside because it's right in the middle of the city close to bars and restaurants with easy commutes to all the hospitals. It is also where most of the current residents recommended.

What advice would you give to incoming residents about moving to the 'Burgh?
It definitely has more to do than I thought! And don't be afraid to reach out to any of the current residents with any questions you may have.
