Executive Administrator, UPMC Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care

Adam Ranalli, MBA, serves as Executive Administrator in the Departments of Emergency Medicine at both the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC. At UPMC, Adam directs strategic decision-making, policy development, and policy implementation for the Department of Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care. At Pitt Med, Adam works closely with Emergency Medicine leadership to oversee the department’s research and teaching administrative functions. 

Adam has more than 15 years of experience in various leadership positions with UPMC. Prior to joining the Department of Emergency Medicine, he served as an administrative leader in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health, most recently as Executive Administrator. In this role, he was responsible for departmental operations of OB-GYN generalist services across five hospitals, which included oversight of 450 operational staff. Adam joined UPMC in 2008 as a financial analyst in the revenue cycle department before transitioning to the UPMC Department of Orthopaedic Surgery as a project manager and later, as the department’s director of operations. He has also served UPMC as a lead financial analyst for physician services. Adam earned his Bachelor of Science at Ohio University and his MBA at Waynesburg University.
